Smart Moisture and Exudate Mapping System (SmartMEMS)

An innovative mobile health (mHealth) solution for woundcare.  The SmartMEMS system wirelessly acquires moisture and exudate levels without dressing removal to quantify wound bed etiology and manage moisture levels in acute and chronic wounds creating a moisture map which promotes healing. A low cost polymer thick film (PTF) sensor array detects in-situ moisture to determine a wet/dry cycle indicating a healing environment exists. The sensor array is configurable to detect and manage biofilm formation in the wound bed.
